Lionville Community YMCA
Summer 2009 Teen Volunteer Program
A summer program to help build teen self-confidence and leadership skills.
What are you doing this summer? If you are interactive, energetic,
enjoy an outdoor camp setting and love helping children - Lionville
Community YMCA is for you.
This is a two-week program for teens, ages
15 and up. Teens
will have the opportunity to volunteer at Day Camp, KinderCamp,
Sports, Nature or Creative Camps as well as Aqua Camp, Babysitting
Camp, Day Care or Babysitting.
- The summer program allows teens to complete graduation projects
and to develop their leadership capabilities, personal growth,
service to others, social development and of course, make friends.
- Applications will be taken between March 15th and May 27th.
- You can apply as a volunteer by downloading the application
from the link, filling out it out and attaching it back to
me in an email. The times I will be available for interviews are listed
below.
- Get your application in early. The earlier you apply the
surer you can be of getting the time and camp that you’re
interested in.
- Interviews will begin April 16 and
run through May 27th.*
- A scheduled interview is required and may be scheduled
on: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 3:00 and 5:00 PM as well as Saturdays at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 AM.
- The Summer Volunteer Orientation will be on Saturday,
May 30 and will be a requirement of all volunteers – so
put it on your calendars!
To prepare for an interview:
- Visit our Summer
Camp site or download
LCY 2009 Camp Guide and decide what weeks you would like to volunteer and in
which camp or area.
- Be prepared to tell us about a craft,
sport or general fun activity that you can run at
camp.
- After completing all of the above, call Missy Sutherland
at 610.854.1649 to schedule an interview. There will be no
interviews or applicants accepted after May 27th.
