UMLY Swimmer at Olympic Trials

Omaha, NE—July 6, 2008—Evan Reed, 18 competed for a spot on the United States Olympic Team on July 2. Reed was seeded 51st in the 100 Meter Freestyle – just two and a half seconds behind Michael Phelps. More than 120 athletes were entered in Evan's event.

Reed is the current YMCA National Champion and record holder in the 100 yard freestyle. He's a member of YMCA's Summer Swim Team and is a volunteer coach. Congrats to Evan for making it to trials!
