Red Carpet Gala Salutes the YMCA Hollywood Style
With all the glitz and glamour of a celebrity event, the Upper
Main Line YMCA’s Night in Hollywood did not disappoint.
More than 350 came out to support UMLY raising $50 thousand for
the YMCA at the April 25 th fundraiser.
The Y’s indoor tennis courts were converted to a festive
party room where guests schmoozed like stars and enjoyed exquisitely
catered food stations and cocktails. Patrons bid on more than
100 themed silent auction items generously donated by friends
of the YMCA. A live auction featured a diamond necklace, a one-week
Cape Cod vacation, Phillies Suite tickets and tickets and a tour
to ABC’s Good Morning America in New York City.
The star attraction of the event was a 1938 Pierce-Arrow Limousine.
Guests posed like celebs on the red carpet for photographs with
the vintage ride. There were celebrity guests on hand too! Well,
cardboard ones! Guests posed with Marylyn Monroe, Sylvester
Stallone as Rocky, John Wayne and everyone’s favorite:
Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana.
The YMCA thanks A Night in Hollywood committee members chaired
by John Schofield and Steve Dittmann, the Branch board of directors
and our many sponsors.
