- When it comes to working out, you don’t have to do it alone.
Whether you are looking to burn fat or build muscle, we offer an
extensive schedule of fitness classes taught by the area’s
top fitness professionals. Improve strength, endurance and
flexibility.
Convenient class times including early am, lunchtime and evening.
- Classes range from tried and true aerobics to cutting-edge programs developed
by leaders in the field:

- Basic Training 60 minutes of
intense cardio sprint and strength interval training
using basic moves from pushups to jumping jacks.
You will be challenged.
- BODYPUMP™ The original barbell
class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute
workout challenges all your major muscle groups by
using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses,
lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and
your choice of weight inspire you to get the results
you came for - and fast!
- Cardi-yoga 30 minutes of high energy,
low impact moves followed by 30 minutes of yoga.
- Cardio
Fit Aerobics and dance moves to make for
a fun and exciting cardiovascular workout! This class
is excellent for people of all fitness levels.
- Cardio, Core and More A variety
of cardiovascular exercises and an intense “core” workout.
- Classical Yoga Yoga promotes vitality
and a sense of well-being. Learn many different traditional
postures and breathing techniques. Please bring a yoga
mat and a towel.
- Corporate Fit An eye opening aerobic
class to get your day started! Combines high-impact
and step moves to make for an exhilarating class. Abdominal
work finishes the class.
- Cycle - Spin Class Forty-five minutes
of cycle training. A great conditioning workout.
- Cycle - Spin/Sculpt A combination
of spinning and toning exercises.
- Kick N Step Combo class of kick
boxing and sprints using boxes and weights.
- Lift It A sculpting class designed
to work all the major muscle groups using a variety
of equipment. Everything from free weights to tubing
and more! For all fitness levels.
- Master Blaster 90 minutes of anything
and everything from kick boxing to high intensity step
and/or aerobics, usually finishes with an intense body-toning
workout.
- Pilates This class focuses on core
strength, muscular endurance and total body flexibility.
Pilates Xpress Work on your core with 30 minutes of
Pilates sandwiched between two invigorating cardio
workouts.
- Step Challenge This high-energy,
heart pumping class uses creative step choreography
to keep you moving and grooving to the beat of the
music. This class is designed for the intermediate
to advance fitness enthusiast.
- Step N Abs Get your day started
with 45 minutes of step followed by abs.
- Step N Sculpt A low impact class
with basic to medium step moves finishing with floor
work.
- Strength, Step, Sculpt A combination
class of arm work, high - low step and floor work.
- Sunday Sampler A one hour ‘best
of’ cardio
class for all levels featuring a rotating schedule
of instructors and routines.
- Zumba A high-energy fusion of Latin
rhythms and movements that tone and sculpt your body
through intervals of dance. Easy to do and fun. Give
it a try!
- Mind/Body
- The growing awareness of the connection between mind and body
fitness has many people searching for exercise programs that
strengthen the body and focus the mind. The Lionville Community
YMCA offers Yoga classes to build stronger bodies and calmer
minds. We also offer Martial Arts classes including Korean Karate
for exercise and rejuvenation.
- Fitness Center
- Our two full service fitness centers feature cardio and strength
training equipment to accommodate all fitness levels. For cardio
training, the Center offers the latest sweat-inducing equipment – treadmills,
ellipticals, rowers, bikes and more. For muscle building, we
have a full line-up of Cybex strength training equipment, free
weights and a Treadwall. All new members get a Fitness Center
Orientation to learn how to use the equipment.
- Youth Fitness
- Whether you blame it on junk food or video games, the sad fact
is that kids today are more inactive than ever before. UMLY offers
many classes and programs to get your child moving. From our
youth basketball league, to sports classes, to open swim time,
there is activity for all ages at the Y.

- For youngsters ages 10 – 13 who want to use the Fitness
Center, we offer a 16-hour strength-training program. Those who
complete the training may use the Fitness Center when accompanied
by an adult.
